A former Herald-Journal employee is among the many Puerto Ricans who could be without power for months after Hurricane Irma swept across the island on its way to the U.S.
Carmen Rodriguez and her family in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, rode out the storm all day Wednesday. Thursday morning, Rodriguez was passing the time playing the board game “Sorry” with her family while the power was out.
“We were told we could without power for four to six months,” she said.
